How do the different app stores promote my app?
The simple answer is 'they don't'. While a website might be interesting and useful, no one will necessarily promote the site.
In some cases, the app store will showcase unique applications with special recognition and promotions. However, Appanda can in no way guarantee that will happen to your app.
